Allama Talib Johari was one of a known religious scholar who was blessed with a tremendous amount of knowledge. Talib Johri received Islamic Theology education in Najaf, Iraq under the exemplary guidance of Ayatullah Al-Uzma Sayyed Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei. He studied the religion in great depths and had a strong grip over various disciplines of Fiqh. He had long held an esteemed position amongst the Shia scholars.
He was not only a scholar but an institution for the majority of aspiring and present scholars. Many Shia scholars consulted Allama Talib Johri on various topics for a better understanding. It was for his such command over every aspect of Islam that he was regarded and respected by every other sect and religion.
He was a master orator with a knack for public speaking. The fluency in his tone coupled with an explanatory style made him an effective speaker. He used this attribute to his advantage and started delivering sermons after completing his education.
Allama Talib Johri reflected on his duties of spreading the knowledge through his religious progressions in the month of Muharram, where people come from far-flung areas to benefit from such lectures. He pursued harmony and unity as an important ingredient in all of his lectures. His sermons were widely comprised of the teachings of the Prophet (P.B.U.H) and love for Ahlul Bayt (a.s).
Tafseer e Quran is yet another inclusion in his accolades. His interpretation of Quranic verses and his way of deliverance was being witnessed by scores of people. This Tafseer made people of other sects attend to his sermons to enhance their understanding of the verses. He was such an important religious figure, that people from all walks of life looked to him for religious guidance.
He also served as the historian, philosopher, and poet where he covered multiple topics in his write-ups. He wrote multiple books where he covered Tafseer, Philosophy, and History and also provided a vision for a life according to the Islamic principles. His book Alamaat e Zahoor e Mehdi is one of the most comprehensive books on the topic of Imam Mehdi (a.s). Another of his masterpiece known as Hadees e Karbala is one of the most accurate reflections of the event of Karbala.
Allama Johri also was a strong proponent of unity between the different sects. His speeches and spiritual gatherings convey his strong sense of dedication towards a unified Muslim Ummah.
Allama Talib Johari served the religion of Islam in every possible manner until he fell ill and finally laid to rest in Karachi. His countless services will remain an asset for the upcoming generation and a great source of inspiration for the aspiring scholars.
