Foot Blisters – Cause and Prevention

Foot blisters are kind of bubbles which appear under feet. It is caused by non-stop walking. Some blisters are painless and some are very painful.

They are caused by friction, typically between skin and sock. Excessive moisture due to sweaty feet or wet condition can also lead to blisters. Wearing running shoes that are small or tied too tight can also cause blisters.

Prevention

There are various ways to prevent the blisters. Make sure your shoes are fitted properly. The shoes must be ½ size bigger since there would be some room in your toe box.

Use socks made from Teflox or coolmax, which wick the moisture from your feet. Some people wear double layer socks to deter blister. You can also use petroleum jelly to make it friction free. But using an excessive amount will lead to slipping in your shoes.

Blister treatment during walk

If you are walking to Karbala and you are facing the problem of blisters, stop at any of medical camp which are present in large number. They will treat you for free and you will be able to join the walk again. Make sure you change the bandage regularly minimum once a day to heal the wound faster.
