Introduction
Ziarat e Ashura is known to be Hadees e Qudsi, the narration by Allah. No other ziarats have the same superiority and importance as ziarat e Ashura has. We will mention the importance of ziarat e Ashura in this article and will try to highlight significance through hadiths and different events.
Hadith by Imam Jaffer Sadiq as
Imam Jafar Sadiq (a.s.) said to his one of his follower,
“O Safwaan! When you are confronted with some adversity, then seek redressal of your grievances from Imam Hussain (a.s.) through the Aamaal of Ashoora. Allah has pledged the fulfillment of demands with this Ziarat and Allah never reneges on His word.” Ref book:Miracles of Ziyarat e Ashura.
No matter the hardships are severe, it can be resolved by reciting ziarat e Ashura for the next forty days. There are many events in history that remarks on the importance of ziarat e Ashura.
Incident of Samarrah
Shaheed’e Mehrab Ayatollah Dastagaib Shirazi (ra) narrates from Ayatollah Sheikh Abdul Karim Haayeri (ra) that he was in Samarrah for his studies. The city of Samarrah was attacked by a deadly disease “plague”. Dozens of people were losing their lives on a daily basis. One night a meeting was called at the house of his teacher, late Syed Muhammad Fesharki (ra). Late Mirza Taqi (ra) was also present. The talk was turned on the plague. Mirza Taqi (ra) said, what if he suggests something that people will follow? Everyone agreed to him. He suggested to recite “ziarat e Ashura” for next days and gift the reward to Lady Nargis, mother of Imam Mehdi ajf. The news was spread in the whole city like fire and people started to recite the ziarat e Ashura. It was noticed that not a single death was reported. (Ziarat e Ashura – Effects and Miracles, Pg 24)

Ziarat e Ashura is easily available in all ziarat books and online also. Previously ziarat e Ashura was recited in Arabic but many scholars have done its translation in Urdu, English and other languages. It makes easier to understand the real meaning. This ziarat has many benefits that can be availed by reciting it.
